ARQ Sydney's residents so far in Mardi Gras 2016 Festival line-up

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras have only just begun announcing the line up for the major events in their 2016 Festival,  the first of their roll calls being the DJ line-up. With the majority of drag performers and dance still under wraps for PARADE weekend, ARQ Sydney's resident DJ's have shown dominance over two of the biggest days on the festival calendar.

Our newest recruits to the full-time roster, Tanner Derby and Victoria Anthony, were part of SGLMG's very first announcement of the PARTY line-up, which this year has been gifted mainly to local talent. A strong international line-up is still present for next years PARTY with Tracy Young (USA), MAZE & MASTERS (UK) and Mark Picchiotti (USA) being the "big-3" so far, however the likes of big-spend crowd pullers like David Guetta and Calvin Harris of years gone by appears to have made way for our local stars to shine in their home town, along with a more modest (yet widely appealing) range of internationals. Brendan Terry, who performs under the alias TANNER DERBY, has long been established in Sydney as a formidable talent, holding residency at venues like Gay Bar, Stonewall and Midnight Shift. He has spent the last 12 months intensifying his craft through production and will be releasing some exciting new original material in 2016, while Victoria Anthony burst onto the Sydney DJ scene 2yrs ago, grabbing it by the balls and proving that with desire and hard work comes reward, winning Sydney's Favourite DJ at the 2015 DIVA Awards held recently.

The historic LANEWAY party on Sunday March 6 see's Rob Davis & James Tobin as the first two announcements for the DJ line-up, both of whom have held shop at ARQ for some time. Rob, who holds residency every Saturday and works most other nights here too, is not just a part of our foundation, but is an icon to many (including other DJ's) and we couldn't be happier with this announcement, particularly coming so soon after his headline spot at I Remember House. James, who made his ARQ debut in 2008, remained on the DJ roster playing both Arena & Vortex until 2014, and later took on more responsibilities behind-the-scenes at the venue. He still ensures he gets back to where it all began though, appearing not just at ARQ Sydney on occasion but also holds residency at Beresford & Colombian. Corey Craig from NYC also takes the decks at LANEWAY.

With the DJ line-ups only just beginning and performance artists still to come, we're so proud of our guys here at ARQ hitting the international stage with Mardi Gras. You can see them at our club, week-in, week-out from Thursday through to Sunday.
